Brandy’s Picks: 3-9-2008

On Friday, Justin and I went to the BBC MINE,
in Bouse Arizona, to collect HEMATITE.
So in honor of the hundreds of specimens and crystals that
we are sorting through right now,
this is going to be an all HEMATITE post.

Hematite Specimen, This is almost certainly
came from where we were yesterday.

Just needs a little more cleaning to get the crust off.

Even though this is being called Hematite, it is actually
MAGNATITE from Utah.
When we were in UTAH last summer,
this was one of our favorite collecting places.
BTW, MARTITE is te old timey name for Hematite.

Botryoidal Hematite from Graves Mountain Georgia

Amethyst with Goethite Thumbnail..
I know that it isn’t Hematite, but it is still iron…so related.
