I’d buy THAT Mineral! 4-25-2007

Hello everyone!

Here is my picks of great minerals for today! Hope you enjoy!

Look at that Haueyne! Pretty nice for the species! Not just a blue speck, this blue speck is about as terminated as your gonna get! Lovely brilliant blue color, not common to the mineral world!

It is too cool, isn't it?

This is a sexy looking crystal…oh what, about 7mm long and only $1,000! What a steal! Well, Warikhanite is one of the rarest species in the world, a funky mineral only coming from the King of all mines, Tsumeb. Not for everyone, but certainly filling a spot in a rare mineral/tsumeb mineral collection!

It is too cool, isn't it?

I’m a nut for Pennsylvania rocks and this included Calcite is a great piece for the price! John Betts always has some great stuff available, don’t forget to sign up for his mailing list, as his best stuff vanishes shortly after being posted every week!

I was just at this location a few weeks ago and lemme tell you….STINKER….What a bunch of no fun. The garnets are few and far between and they are usually so spread out from one another and SMALL. Well, this specimen from Mr. Betts is going to be MUCH cheaper than going to the location yourself (It’s in the middle of NOWHERE!) and chances are, you won’t find anything nicer!

It is too cool, isn't it?

I was flipping through old Rock and Mineral magazines from the 60’s and I passed by an old Conklin ad from 1965…you would think, if anyone knows his rocks, it’s Mr. Conklin! Check out this very cool Mimetite/Cerussite specimen. In the mine, the Cerussites sometimes get leached out and Mimetite forms around the sides. In this case, the Cerussite still looks pretty sharp, not the usual case!

And there you have it…the rocks I like for May 25th, 2007!
Enjoy!
